The Art of Proposing

You want to make your proposal a moment to remember but don't know where

to start? Here are a few suggestions to help you along the way.

Romantic Sleigh or Carriage Ride

Picture you and the one you love on a romantic sleigh ride through glistening snow (or
a carriage ride through a lovely park) while you hold her in your arms, tell her of your
love, and ask her that all important question. Don't forget a picnic basket with wine
glasses and your favorite wine/non-alcoholic wine to toast the occasion. She will never
forget it or you!

Engagement Ring in a Wine Glass

Does your loved one have a birthday coming up? Or do you like to celebrate the
monthly or other anniversaries of the moment you met? One of these would be the
perfect occasion to pop the question.

Take her to a lovely restaurant. (You have scouted this out ahead of time, of course.
You will want a secluded table with an enchanting view and soft music playing in the
background, if possible. You will also need the cooperation of your waiter. Not a
problem. You will find the staff at a supper club delighted to assist you.)

Once you are seated and have ordered, ask the waiter to recommend a wine to serve
while you and the one you love wait for dinner to be served. By prearrangement, the
waiter will bring the wine and glasses to the table, place yours, then hers, and observe
with distress that something is in the bottom of her glass! While your waiter rushes
off to get another glass (leaving the other on the table), if your loved one hasn't
already noticed the engagement ring, you might lean forward, eye the glass, and ask
her, "What is that?" Once she has discovered your wonderful surprise, you tell her of
your love, ask her to marry you, and place the ring on her finger. The waiter returns
with a clean glass for her and pours your choice of wine to celebrate the occasion.
Your delighted bride-to-be will tell the story again and again!

Romance at Breakfast

Do you and your beloved prefer a leisurely breakfast? If so, again select a restaurant
with a lovely setting. (Ambiance is everything!) Enjoy your breakfast together, and
when the moment seems right, gaze into your loved one's gorgeous eyes with all the
love you have in your heart. Wait until she blushes and says, "What?" Then murmur,
"How would you like to eat breakfast across the table from me for the rest of our
lives?" (This method netted some plucky fellow 44-plus years with the love of his
life.) As soon as your loved one says yes, top breakfast off by taking her shopping for
that right ring. She will love this memorable day and you, who made it special!
